Our Story

The Bagel Factory has been a staple in the Norman community for 13 years. The owner introduced Oklahoma to made-from-scratch, “baked and boiled bagels,” in the 80’s. He and two college buddies secured a still-used today recipe from one of the top bagel shops in New York City. They opened 70 locations in 15 states and took the company public, earning a National Small Business Entrepreneurial Award presented by then President Bill Clinton. He continues to stick to the made-from-scratch “on-site” boiled and baked business model. This model is used by his ex-partners in Tulsa at NY Bagel. They also chose to end their relationship with Old School. Vince Vrana is the sole owner/operator and resides in Norman. Vince has been in the bagel business for over 20 years. He also has been a Sonic Franchisee with locations in St. Augustine and Jacksonville Florida.
